MERCHANT OF DUBAI was denied a winning opportunity when Ayr was abandoned during the week but he's been rerouted here with just as good a chance and will relish the soft ground. Jim Goldie's six-year-old, third in the November Handicap on his latest start on the Flat, can get off the mark at the first time of asking over timber. Momkinzain was well beaten at Musselburgh last time but Our Joe Mac, another decent handicapper on the Flat, has to be a contender after a very promising second to Molotof in a Listed event at Haydock.
