In depth

Verdict

The Maserati Kid can take this on his debut over timber after taking a couple of bumpers either side of a break. Provided he takes to the obstacles then he should be smart enough to win this one. Strong Tartan will get every yard of this trip, but reverts to this from chasing and may just be tapped for toe by the selection. Of the remainder, San Dimas has been given a break since July, but would have definite place claims on his too course and distance runs this time last year. Just Ed is another to consider for a place, while Beau Roberto's flat form gives no indication that he should be a force on his first outing over hurdles for a long time.
