In depth

Verdict

Dan's Heir has shown improved form since being switched to the winter game but disappointed in heavy ground at Wetherby last time and may now be best watched, especially under a penalty, so preference is for Vinando ahead of Planters Punch. The last mentioned has claims on the form shown when successful at Carlisle but has struggled under a penalty since and may do so again. Star Zero is an interesting newcomer representing the powerful Wylie/Johnson combination, while It's No Easy is difficult to recommend judged by recent form. Bumper winner Arctic Moss has shown only a modicum of ability over hurdles so far and a safer bet looks to be Vinando. Charlie Egerton's entire was useful on the flat and made an encouraging debut over hurdles behind Craven at Newbury recently. Granted natural improvement for that outing, he should be good enough to land this.
