        Verdict

        Native Optimist probably ran up to his best when runner-up at Carlisle last month and beat TOTAL ASSETS 13 lengths at Hexham back in October. But Simon Waugh’s charge is much better off at the weights and is a sound stayer who will relish the extra yardage here, where he has already won four times. Seldom Inn is also very much a course specialist but two of his three victories here have come over fences. Scotswell, another who likes it here, is getting a bit long in the tooth and Landecker has been hard to catch right since beating Sevenballs Of Fire over track and trip at the end of 2016.
