In depth

Verdict

Pairc Na Gcapall bounced back from a heavy fall at Huntingdon to win well at Taunton and merits respect under his penalty but he could struggle to concede weight to Victory Surge who ran on gamely to land his second race over fences and is fairly treated from a 5lb higher mark. Colin Tizzard saddled the second home in that race and it may be worth taking a chance with his chase debutant COUP ROYALE who progressed well over hurdles and is expected to make a better chaser. Sea Cadet is relatively consistent and should make his presence felt, Morestead had been in good form prior to a below par display last time and Petroupetrov is open to improvement over fences after just four starts and has a good record when fresh so could emerge as the biggest threat.
