      Verdict

      DARK LANE finished a respectable third on his recent return to action. That effort was over 5f at Wolverhampton in a better race than this and he gets the nod back over his winning trip at a course that should suit. Ray Of Joy, Vhujon and Jack Rackham have all been running well over C&D lately and the booking of Jamie Spencer for the John Oxx-trained Flash McGahon will attract interest, although, it should be noted that the Irish raider has won only once in 39 starts and that was back in 2006.
