Verdict

Watersmeet will be winning one of these events soon judged on a promising debut effort over track and trip last month. Beaten only a short-head on that occasion, he'll be a popular choice in this, but another chance goes to MAAHIR. Sent off favourite for his debut at Wolverhampton, Marco Botti's colt didn't get far before jinking and unseating his jockey and is taken to make amends in this. Khutze and Purana will need to step up from their respective introductions, but Mount Shamsan, a half-brother to four winners, is worth noting on his racecourse debut.
