Verdict

A moderate contest might go to BIG SUR, who is taken to find a bit more now tried at this trip again. One previous attempt over 10f proved abortive, but that was on his handicap debut and he can be forgiven. He has acted on the Polytrack elsewhere and was running on into the frame over 1m 1f last time, auguring well for tonight. The booking of David Probert and the application of headgear makes Southwark Newsman of interest, and money for him would probably be significant. Claimer winner Empress Leizu is one to keep an eye on in the betting, while this is a fair bit easier than recent races contested by Best Of Broadway, who would be no surprise winner. Even so, Big Sur is preferred for today.
