In depth

Verdict

Cheeseandpickle made a winning start at Newcastle but that was over the minimum trip and Exprompt is preferred on his second over track and trip when Matchmaking was well beaten. Glendevon’s second here looks stronger form than Moqarrar’s third at Newmarket and the latter is overlooked by Jim Crowley in favour of the newcomer Kawasir, a half-brother to a Grade 1 winner in the US. But Saeed bin Suroor introduces the 550,000gns purchase LAIETH and he gets the vote on the strength of an entry in the Racing Post Trophy at the end of this month.
