In depth

Verdict

JACK SMUDGE was denied a five-timer when beaten less than a length at Wolverhampton off today's mark on his latest start. Already a winner here, James Given's charge is taken to return to winning ways. Forty Proof and Liberty Green have both been in fine form at Lingfield and Wolverhampton and could figure, but Shostakovich has shown his best on the Fibresand so far. Loki's Revenge is interesting back on Polytrack and New Latin is worth noting on his handicap debut.
