Verdict

Not many to face the starter here and two with the biggest claims look to be FIN VIN DE LEU and Best In Class and we'll side with the former. The Mark Johnston-trained selection has contested four maidens so far and it is interesting that his trainer perseveres here rather than making use of a BHA rating of 77 in handicaps. His effort over course and distance last time was decent in context and is probably the best piece of form on offer here, so with further steady improvement possible we will side with him. Best In Class merits plenty of respect, having just been held at Lingfield last time and with less miles on the clock he is arguably open to more improvement. He should not be far away. Esteem Lord will probably be better watched when handicapping, Independent James is related to winners over this trip at three, so money for him would be interesting on debut, while it is hard to enthuse about Lyrical Intent. Fin Vin De Leu is given the vote.
