Verdict

Fourth Generation's mark remains unchanged after a ready maiden success and his trainer doesn't send many here, so with Fallon booked keep an eye on the market. Wild Rose was impressive in the tongue-tie here but this is tougher and she's been clobbered by the handicapper, while the closely matched pair Sing Sweetly and Fareej need to improve to win off their respective ratings. Dromore is a better horse on artificial surfaces so his run at Goodwood deserves extra credit but he is weighted to the hilt on this surface while Shubaat got bogged down at Haydock and may improve for dropping in trip now down a pound. Our preference though is for SAGAMORE, a progressive son of Azamour whose maiden form is working out well. He's been allotted a mark of 90 for this handicap debut but has experience of a similar surface and looks the type to make his mark at a higher level in time.
