      Verdict

There are plenty in this race that could have cases built for them but we will shortlist Caustic Wit, Bobby Rose, Glencal and Jayanjay and make Glencal the selection. Glencal comes here as a lightly-raced improver and maybe committed for home a fraction early when just caught at Lingfield last time. Back in trip today, she can put up a bold show. Caustic Wit has form enough to run well from his current mark, while much as Bobby Rose is four pounds above his March course win, he comes here on the back of a good Goodwood effort so comes into the reckoning on that basis. Jayanjay gets a good shout for, much as he was behind the 25/1 winner Anfield Dream (who races off a six-pounds higher mark today) over course and distance last time, he looked unlucky in running on that occasion. He was just ahead of the satying-on Nautical in the same race. As we say, it's a pretty competitive heat with the selection being Glencal
