Verdict

Silk Street ran better than expected on ground probably softer than ideal on his debut at Nottingham earlier this month and Richard Fahey's colt has solid claims here but he is unlikely to represent much in the way of value and preference is for MUTAFAJER, who gets the verdict ahead of Grey Bunting. The last mentioned ran promisingly in the first division of a maiden at Newbury won by Exceedingly Bold earlier in the month, staying on well late on in the race without ever threatening the winner. He has to be respected but the selection ran better in the second division of that maiden when a fair fifth behind Noafal when looking as though he would come on for the run and Saeed Bin Suroor's colt is taken to open his account today. There are some interesting newcomers in the race including Henry Cecil's Mr Greeley filly Dame Shanakill and John Gosden's Prizefighting, either of who could be good enough to win first time out. Walter Swinburn's Alubari is probably bred for further and of more interest may be the son of Anabaa, Ana Moutabahi, from the stable of Clive Cox. Saeed Bin Suroor has done really well with his two-year-olds this season though and can have another winner with Mutafajer.
