Verdict

Lancelot Du Lac hasn't won since landing last year's renewal off a 5lb lower mark. Dungannon recorded a double on the Turf in October and is not easily dismissed with a decent apprentice taking 5lb off his back while though Hoof It arrives out of form he continues to slip down the weights. The progressive STEELRIVER (NAP) won a shade comfortably over track and trip last time and may not have finished improving yet. He beat Piper's Note on that occasion and the latter has since finished ahead of both Hallelujah and Out Do when second at Wolverhampton. Major Jack is upped in class but is another to consider.
