Verdict

SUBSTITUTE lost his maiden tag with a very impressive display in an admittedly poor handicap over timber here last month. First-time cheekpieces appeared to make the difference and if he can transfer that form to fences he'll take all the beating. Granaruid did most things right on his chasing debut at Tramore but was caught on the line by Traffic Article. He looks a bigger danger than Definite All Star, who has had his chances and looked one-paced at Tramore last time. Winning point-to-pointer Witness Belle ran quite well on her chasing debut here last month and can go well with her allowances.
