In depth

Verdict

Luke Dempsey, who has ridden plenty of winners as an apprentice on the Flat, can use his claim as a conditional over jumps and looks to have picked up a fine ride on SWANTYKAY. Gordon Elliott's charge has been in excellent form and his only recent blemish came when impeded at the Galway Festival and this can prove within his capabilities. Fethard Player is 13lb higher than when scoring at Ballinrobe in June while War Of The Pennys makes his handicap debut with a big weight. Mrs Mac Veale scored over fences at Tramore last month and that's probably where her future lies, a remark that also applies to Six Stone Ned, placed in Grade 3 company in novice chases in October. The latter was behind Curragh Golan at Bellewstown last time and is unlikely to reverse the form as Garret Power's charge only just failed to concede Cassells Rock 6lb and looks the main threat here.
