In depth

Verdict

SPANISH AURIGA has been unfortunate not to lose his maiden tag with four successive seconds over hurdles to his name. He is best on good ground as he showed with an excellent effort behind the very useful Jumbo Rio at Limerick in October, form that has been boosted by the subsequent exploits of the winner. Far Away So Close is another who is dropping in grade having run creditably behind Menorah in the Supreme Novices' at Cheltenham. His form so far is all on ground with some give so it remains to be seen how he acts in faster conditions. Happy Milly is another finding it difficult to get her head in front but she's been in good form all year while dual bumper winner Character Actor is one to note as he makes his hurdling bow. Kealigolane was still in front when coming to grief at Listowel last time after a cracking hurdling debut second to Satu at Cork and is another to keep an eye on in a fair maiden event.
