Verdict

Extra Steps stepped up to a mile for the first time at Navan and ran her best race to date though she was just outpaced in the closing stages. Six Silver Lane hadn't been showing much before an improved run at Bellewstown under a huge weight and he's only 1lb higher. BALMONT FLYER was having his first start for a year when a very good fourth behind Footcycle at Navan and further progress will see him difficult to beat from his lowly mark. All of Piece D'Or's three runs have come on soft ground so it remains to be seen how she handles the faster going. Belleau had a chance in a claiming race at Dundalk yesterday though her best form has been on turf.
