Verdict

A stronger beginners' chase than usual but HIS EXCELLENCY can make a winning debut over fences. It's rare for Gordon Elliott to send a four-year-old chasing but the Grade 2 winning hurdler should do well in this sphere and his overall class can see him home. Big Generator is a half-brother to a couple of useful jumpers and what he's achieved over hurdles has been a bonus so he looks certain to go well as does Meritorius, who has the benefit of experience over the bigger obstacles and was only just touched off in this last year. Caolaneoin, Double Seven and Catleen are all decent hurdlers turning their attentions to fences and any one of them could prove very useful.
