Three-year-olds have won the last six and look to have the upper hand again via AIR VICE MARSHAL. Aidan O'Brien's colt, runner-up to Birchwood in the Group 2 Superlative Stakes last July, made a very pleasing reappearance in the Two Thousand Guineas at Newmarket and though not at his best in the Irish version will appreciate the drop in class and can get back to winning ways. His stable companion General Macarthur hasn't really looked up to this class in two runs at the level so it could be one of the older horses who offers the biggest threat. Assume has only had five starts, the last four at Listed level after she made a successful debut at this meeting a year ago. She hasn't been beaten far in either of her last two starts and looks certain to get involved. Erysimum landed a couple of minor events before tackling a Group 3 at Naas but found 6f too short and should do better.
