Verdict

SAYIF has been found a decent opportunity to gain a deserved success and can confine Sneak Preview and Saucy Brown to minor roles. The Chapple-Hyam colt must be one of the highest rated maidens in training following narrow defeats in four Group races. He failed to fire in a Listed race at Doncaster on his final start when a well backed favourite but he may have been feeling the effects of a busy season and the run is best ignored. He should win with his head in his chest if running to his mark. Of course, all of the runners have the scope for improvement so the fact that he is rated 17lbs clear of his nearest rival shouldn't be over laden with significance. Sneak Preview progressed well through the year and made the frame behind Guineas hopefuls Aspen Darlin and Serious Attitude on her last two starts although she does have to prove that she can run up to that level on faster ground. Saucy Brown struggled towards the end of last season and his high mark could mean that he's hard to place this term unless he's improved over the winter. Enderby Spirit did well without suggesting that he can match strides with a peak form Sayif and Exceptional Art would appear to be the yard's second string despite having been asked to contest a French Group 1 following his maiden win. The selection is entered in the Guineas on either side of the Irish Sea and Sayif will need to win this well to keep those dreams alive.
