    Verdict

With little form to go on you could list a number of these as possible winners but we will side with Excellent ahead of Grand Court, Haneen, Mazeej and African Sunrise. By Grand Lodge, Excellent is a half-sister to the high-class Chic and is afforded plenty of respect in this maiden. Sir Michael Stoute also runs the 270,000 guineas purchase Grain Of Truth. Grand Court is a daughter of that classy sprinter, Nice One Clare, while John Dunlop is represented by the well-bred Haneen. Italic is another eyecatcher on pedigree, while Kaveri's fourth to Erytheis at Yarmouth last time gives you a benchmark to the value of the form. Leopoldine's Carlisle debut effort was fair, and she can improve again, while Mazeej cost $400,000 and has a very good American pedigree. Miss Hepburn was far from disgraced on her debut, but Mirth will need to leave his well behind in order to feature. African Sunrise cost $650,000 and has to be respected from the Godolphin camp, while John Gosden's Singular, a daughter of Zafonic, also catches the eye. Summer's Eve is a sister to the Ascot Gold Cup winner, Papineau and, finally, Way To The Stars is a half-sister to Diktatorial, and Illuminise, Royal Fantasy and Divisive are others that have something to like on breeding in a maiden that holds plenty of interest. Overall, though, we will side with Excellent, but it is a race to watch with interest.
