In depth

Verdict

Mujma could prove the best of the newcomers but we will side with experience on this occasion and plump for Hurlingham, Monte Alto looks the best of the rest. Mark Johnston's colt has done little wrong in two races to date, finshing placed in strong races at Warwick and Sandown. His pedigree suggest he could be a better horse with cut in the ground and so today's conditions could be ideal. Monte alto finished third to the smart Jaasoos at yarmouth on his debut and as with most Cumani runners he should improve with racing. Mujma is Sir Michael Stoute's representative and is a well bred son of Indian Ridge. He as reportedly been working well at home and should be watched closely in the betting. The same applies to the John Gosden trained Bergonzi, but on this testing ground it may pay to follow an experienced runner and we select Hurlingham.
