In depth

Verdict

Recalcitrant can land the finale at the expense of Moonshine Creek, Medieval Maiden and Apache Fort. Jimmy Frost's son Hadden has been impressing everyone with his timing and strength in the saddle, and his booking for Recalcitrant sways us towards Simon Dow's four-year-old today. She absolutely bolted up at Bath when the money was down 12-days ago, and although upped 8lb by the handicapper, is hard to oppose. Moonshine Creek kept on well for second on his handicap bow over 10-furlongs at Nottingham, and can make a race of it, while Medieval Maiden finally got her act together when scoring on the all-weather at Wolverhampton seven days ago, and may now start to be more consistent. Apache Fort has been holding his form well but has a bit to prove, especially against Recalcitrant who is going to take all the beating and who gets a confident vote.
