Verdict

Anything Simon Walker rides in races like this deserves the utmost respect and La Isla Bonita is no exception back on the same mark as when successful at Yarmouth in August, though recent efforts have left something to be desired. Young John is in decent form and was second over 6f here two runs ago while Oswald’s only poor run recently came on the all-weather. Mr Strutter was only beaten a neck over this trip at Newcastle but is probably better over 6f, as is Desert Dream. WAHAAB appears to have two ways of running but won over course and distance a year ago when 2lb higher and also at Chepstow in June. If on a going day, Sophie Leech’s gelding could be the answer to a tricky finale.
