Verdict

Aidan O'Brien has three entries in this opener. The Gurkha is a Galileo colt out of a mare who has produced winners with her first two foals. He has Group 1 entries as does CLAUDIO MONTEVERDI, another son of Galileo who made a very promising reappearance at the Curragh when staying on strongly behind Embiran. Californiadreaming is the third of the Ballydoyle brigade and the more likely of the trio to be suited by this trip, though she's currently a 66/1 chance for the 1000 Guineas. Look Closer has a tremendous middle-distance pedigree and last summer's run over 7f here on fast ground wouldn't have been enough of a stamina test. Atlas showed good pace for a long way in the selection's race at the Curragh while Saafarr lost his action and was pulled up in a Group 2 at the Curragh in June and hasn't run since. Tommy Stack had a winner at the Curragh on Sunday so Freeman is one to keep an eye on.
