    Verdict

Black Ice and More Of The Same will need to show massive improvement to take a hand against the trio who have shown promise. Lake Nova made a bright start on soft ground at Naas but disappointed when tackling much faster going at the Curragh though he may not have been suited by front-running. Saxo Jack finished runner-up in a big field at Navan and started favourite for a Curragh maiden but he's another who appeared to be undone by the quicker ground. He could only finish fifth behind The Vatican but it was runner-up AL DESTOOR who really caught the eye on his debut and the son of Teofilo looks a very nice prospect for John Oxx and can go one better.
