Verdict

Aidan O'Brien has won the last two of these but complicates this year's renewal with three entries. DIODORUS could prove the best of the trio and looked a smart prospect when getting within a length of Eagle Spirit over the course and distance in June without knowing he'd had a race. Tang Dynasty also made a very encouraging debut behind stable companion Capri at Galway so he's another with huge potential and the Galileo newcomer Finn McCool won't be making up the numbers. Brutal is an excellent yardstick and has been unfortunate not to have won by now as he's been staying on strongly at the finish over a furlong shorter. King's Shilling is a half-brother to two winners and will know his job while Mill Valley's dam produced a 1m2f winner with her first foal.
