Verdict

Poetic Flare and Tarnawa are unbeaten around here while Patrick Sarsfield is 2-4 on the track, though the latter would be a shock winner. The former produced a brilliant effort to land the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and though beaten by ST MARK’S BASILICA at Longchamp may not have been ideally suited by testing ground, though he did act in heavy conditions when chasing home Mac Swiney in the colt’s classic at the Curragh. Beaten a neck by Palace Pier at Deauville last time, he won’t go down without a fight here. Tarnawa has now won seven of her last eight including three at Group 1 level. Her victory over Magical at Keeneland was an outstanding effort though her form is more than matched by that of the selection, who has won his last four, all at the highest level with his Eclipse victory over Derby hero Addeybb just about edging what should be a fascinating contest.
