Verdict

SHERLOCK HOLMES seems an apt place to start in the search for clues in a wide-open contest. The Ballydoyle colt made a winning start in handicaps over today's trip at Bellewstown and has plenty of scope for further progress. Cheltenham Festival winner Windsor Park remains unbeaten in three starts on the Flat but hasn't raced since April and Pat Smullen stays loyal to stablemate Silwana, a close-up third in this last year off a 7lb lower mark with Digeanta behind. Recent Chester winner Gabrial's King and Montefeltro make the trip over from England but look to have tough tasks while Benkei and Western Boy have a hike in the weights to contend with after their latest wins. Pyromaniac scored at the Curragh back in May and will be sharper for a recent spin over hurdles.
