Verdict

Dermot Weld has a fantastic record in this and though Rakan looks as though he'll need to improve there's every chance of him doing so. Aidan O'Brien has won the last two, both with three-year-olds, and TIGER MOTH (NAP) can continue the sequence. He was having only his third start when just failing to reel in Santiago in the Irish Derby and can take this before heading for the Arc or the Melbourne Cup. Joseph O'Brien has three entries with Patrick Sarsfield, beaten just over a length in a German Group 1 when staying on over 1m2f, just getting the nod over Buckhurst, who has only run once over this trip. Up Helly Aa was returning from a very long break when beaten a nose by So Wonderful in a Killarney Listed contest and may prove best of the reminder.
