Verdict

Aidan O'Brien has won this with the likes of Viscount Nelson and Camelot. Douglas Macarthur, who cost 1.25m gns started long odds-on for his debut here last month but finished last of the six runners. He's obviously highly regarded but stable companion Utah, a brother to Derby runner-up At First Sight, may have his measure this time. Gino Severini is related to numerous winners and Settle For Bay is a half-brother to a couple of minor winners but WORLD WAR is handed the vote. Ger Lyons' Galileo colt cost a whopping 1.2m gns and is out of a mare who was disqualified after finishing first in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in 2010.
