Verdict

This has been a stepping stone to greatness in recent years having been won by the likes of New Approach, Zoffany and for the last three years by Aidan O'Brien, including Churchill last year. THE PENTAGON and Berkeley Square represent the stable this year and though the latter was an easy winner when long odds-on at Tipperary it's the former, a half-brother to five winners, who really caught the eye with a commanding victory at the Curragh. He can continue the stable sequence though Theobald will ensure he doesn't have things his own way. Jim Bolger's colt beat Berkeley Square on his debut before finding the filly Actress too strong in the Group 3 Anglesey Stakes at the Curragh. Would Be King keeps bumping into smart performers and may do so again here and the remaining pair have a bit to find despite winning their latest races.
