Verdict

Uncle Junior landed the big staying handicap at the Punchestown Festival in May in fantastic style but needs a thorough test of stamina and this looks on the short side. Golden Kite won this a year ago but is 7lb higher though he's probably been primed for a repeat as his latest runs have been over hurdles. Classy hurdler Muirhead has only had three runs over fences but has won once and was given too much to do at Galway. He's on the short-list as is the consistent For A Finish but BIDEFORD LEGEND will take some beating and gets the nod. Charles Byrnes' charge started favourite for the Kerry National at Listowel last month and though beaten by Alpha Beat it was another cracking effort and he looks certain to go well. Indifference Curve would probably prefer more give but Ahorsecalledmolly has been winning on faster ground than he'll encounter here. For Bill is a high-class performer but she's never been this far under Rules though she is unbeaten in two starts between the flags.
