Verdict

Count Of Carabass is still well treated despite going up 5lb for last month's victory at Cork where he's also engaged to run tomorrow. Geological's big weight is greatly reduced by his regular partner's claim and he won over a mile at this meeting a year ago. Alans Pride has also won around here though looks a few pounds high at present but Hasselnott has been racing in testing conditions and should find today's ground much more to his liking. Mr Shelby was sent to Ayr for a Class 6 handicap and won easily so he's on the shortlist despite a big rise in the ratings but CLONVILLE is taken to follow up last month's surprise victory at Gowran where, facing fast ground for the first time, she made most and stayed on strongly. Back At Dawn has had the regulation three runs for a rating and starts the campaign on a lowly mark so is definitely one to keep an eye on.
