In depth

Verdict

The two previous winners of this were returned 20/1 and 22/1 and WREKIN ROCK was a 25/1 chance when making a winning debut over timber at Gowran in November. He pulled too hard when well beaten in a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse a few days later and should take this big drop in class in his stride. The Four Elms has also started at huge prices on all three runs over timber but has shown promise, especially behind Arnaud over the C&D in December. Moenchengladbach is bred for jumping but ran quite well on his bumper debut at Thurles while Perilously, who cost 110,000 euros as a yearling, was picked up for 3,000gns at the December Sales. Missie Ella ran better than her SP of 80/1 would suggest on her hurdling debut at Navan a couple of weeks ago.
