In depth

Verdict

HYPERDRIVE (NAP) showed little in his first campaign and was gelded over the winter before returning with a fine run behind today's rival Steelyeyed over 1m2f at Leopardstown where he was going on strongly. The longer trip will suit and he can reverse places with the winner, who ran better than his finishing position suggests at Navan a week ago. Inescapable wasn't far behind in that Leopardstown event but looks held and Joseph O'Brien may have a better chance with Epitaph, who came very close to losing his maiden tag when headed in the dying strides by Tilly's Chilli over the track and trip last weekend when Khudha was noted making good late headway.
