      In depth

      Verdict

Silent Jo should be capable of stepping up on recent efforts to land this ahead of Hills Spitfire and My Immortal. Silent Jo ran into a decent horse in Hard Top last time out but was far from disgraced under the circumstances. With the Godolphin team in much better form than they have been at any stage this season, on official ratings he is pretty much the one they all have to beat. My Immortal looks as if a step up in trip should suit. He stayed on in a Newmarket maiden over 1m4f without ever quite threatening the principals and has to be respected in a maiden that lacks strength in depth. He did beat Hills Spitfire on that occasion and can confirm form again here. Takrit is a daughter of Giant's Causeway. A half-sister to a seven furlong specialist in Tease, it is interesting that Clive Brittain has gone for a maiden over fourteen furlongs. Celtic Promise traveled well for a long way at Nottingham in a similar contest but was convincingly outpointed when the pace quickened. Tickers Way is a winner under National Hunt rules having won a bumper while Maares, who has an interesting jockey booking, has similarly had some experience. Not a particularly strong heat but it could just be worth chancing Silent Jo in this race.
