Verdict

It will be interesting to see how Major Lawrence performs in the second race on the card as Leverage beat him in a Newbury maiden last time and Luca Cumani's colt has to be strongly considered on his handicap debut here off a mark of 80 but a safer option looks to be FYELEHK, who gets the vote over Raimond Ridge. Mick Channon's gelding has been running consistently well of late and he should again be thereabouts but looks booked for place at best. Ralph Beckett's Top Town Girl has struggled since landing a maiden race at Sandown as a juvenile in September but she has been given a chance by the handicapper and has to be considered. Kingswinford has shown improved form of late and has solid claims racing off the same mark as when second behind The Tatling at Newbury last time but a better bet looks to be Fyelehk. Rod Millman's gelding has won his last two starts in handicaps at Folkestone and Epsom and he is taken to defy the 6lb rise for the latest of those successes and complete a hat-trick.
