In depth

Verdict

Millfield has been in good form in handicaps of late with recent successes here and at Wolverhampton and the four-year-old should be able to continue winning ways dropped into this claimer, getting the verdict over Benllech and Monashee Brave. The last mentioned disappointed at Wolverhampton last time but has claims on earlier form; however, he has yet to prove his effectiveness over seven furlongs so may be best watched. Gerard Butler's Desert Dreamer is well treated judged by official BHA ratings and has to be considered having run with credit in his last two starts. Chief Exec ran better in a similar race over course and distance last time and makes more appeal than Satyricon, who has been largely disappointing of late. Benllech has every chance on the pick of his form but has been below par of late so may have to settle for minor honours and preference is for the in-form Millfield.
