        Verdict

        A competitive-looking maiden to start proceedings but MATHIX (NAP) showed plenty on his second start at Newbury last year and is fancied to improve past the more exposed Arnarson and Prerogative dropping down a grade. Eagle Creek wasn’t far behind the selection on his debut and he’s another likely improver this season. Daimochi was only beaten a head over course and distance in November and should find a race this season while Spun Gold will be one to note when going handicapping. Entangling started favourite when third at Kempton last month but needs to find an extra gear.
