    In depth

    Verdict

A relatively open looking maiden, where experience could be the key and with that in mind the TEAMtalk vote goes to Contractor. A promising second to Viera at Newmarket in September, he ran well here over course and distance when fresh last week to be third to Splendid Era. That was his debut on the all weather, and despite the suggestion that he would probably be better over further, he can come good here. Sir Michael Stoute has an interesting debutante in McQueen. A Barathea colt, McQueen should be at home with a debut over this trip and could be anything, though the market should prove our best guide as to his prospects. Quiet Storm certainly has place claims based on her three-quarter length second to Brave Call over six furlongs here last month. With further improvement anticipated over seven furlongs, she could go close. Tora Bora has half a length to find with Quiet Storm on that running here in November, but as that was her debut it would be no surprise if Geoff Wragg's filly reverses the placings here. Another involved that day, Wages, was a further three-quarters of a length behind the third and could claim to be a little unlucky in running there, so also comes here with every chance.
