Verdict

Several of these are old foes. First Mohican was fourth in this contest last year but was beaten by both Winterlude and Godolphin’s Winning Story over the winter before scoring over track and trip. The latter found WATERSMEET much too good at Chelmsford last time though Mark Johnston’s grey had earlier been beaten by Godolphin’s other runner, Natural Scenery, over 1m4f at Newcastle. But he re-opposes on better terms today and is fancied to take his revenge. Natural Scenery won nicely over today's trip back at Newcastle for her latest outing and remains unexposed but Prince Of Arran, Petite Jack and Cohesion all step up in distance and a big run is expected from the latter with Ryan Moore on board. Pinzolo stays 2m and his second to Convey in the Winter Derby over 1m2f here last time suggests he could go well.
