Verdict

A third successive maiden race, and OIL STRIKE could be the one here to land the spoils, getting the nod ahead of Lago Indiano and My Mandy. Oil Strike steps up in trip after being narrowly beaten on debut at Goodwood; he's had a little lay-off, but will have been well-schooled by Peter Winkworth. Lago Indiana is a half brother to an Irish Oaks winner; he's from a yard who do well here, and makes his debut. My Mandy is well exposed, with six places from 11 runs. She keeps threatening to win, but tries this trip for the first time, and the way she finished last time out that looks to be a positive move by Ian Williams, who doesn't send many here. The market can be a good friend to us, but at this stage in the absence of that we're happy to follow Oil Strike.
