Benedict Bay ran better at Wincanton last time but a 7lb rise for that effort leaves him with more to do here and, in a weak race, a better bet looks to be Captain's Legacy, with Georges Boy rated the best of the rest. The selection has yet to win a race but Gardie Grissell's gelding has shown plenty of ability and looks to be reasonably well treated for his debut in this grade. A market move for Aqua Pura would be of some interest, while Lannigans Lock could probably do with some help from the handicapper. Acknowledgement has given little sign of encouragement since being switched to hurdles, while Alphagran would need to improve on all known form to trouble the judge. Georges Boy showed improved form at Chepstow last time but is not certain to appreciate the drop back in trip and a safer bet looks to be Captain's Legacy, who looks to be going the right way.
