    Verdict

Another race where it could pay to give a newcomer the benefit of the doubt, with Resplendent Prince getting the nod over Saadigg and Samson Quest, who appeal the most out of the fellow debutantes. Whereas Hypnotic ran as if he needed the experience on his debut and could easily come into his own now that he has a run already behind him. There is a fair bit of speed in his pedigree and he is definitely one to watch in the betting. The gelded Flying Pass, the most exposed runner in the line up, is given another chance to prove himself at this level and should be capable of going close in this company. However, he has looked a likely type for handicaps and may find a few too good on level terms with the colts today. Sastre, one of four fillies in the line up, has been slowly away in both her starts to date and, like the majority of the rest, does not look to be anything out of the ordinary at this stage. So we prefer to take a chance with the potential of Resplendent Prince, who is a half-brother to winning juvenile miler Lasting Delight, and hails from a yard that are just stepping things up a gear. The son of Primo Dominie also has a good draw on the far rail and, with Darryll Holland doing the steering, he has plenty in his favour today.
