Verdict

A very moderate seller to get us underway and we'll nominate MIND OF HER OWN to land the spoils ahead of Rainsborough and Bubbly Braveheart. The selection hails from the in-form David Evans yard and has improved for gradually being stepped up in trip and does so again today tackling 1m for the first time. The filly took fourth in an above-average claimer last time out at Wolverhampton, shaping that day as though a further furlong wouldn't go amiss and with Lingfield's artificial surface not expected to pose any problem for this daughter of Pastoral Pursuits who is best in on the figures there should be no excuses today. Rainsborough rates the main danger to our selection having finished clear of the field when taking second behind one from David Evans's stable at Southwell last time. Today's surface is a very different one but having also gone well at Kempton we fancy this gelding to cope well enough with Lingfield's polytrack surface and as such he is put up as the danger with Robert Winston again taking the ride. Bubbly Braveheart comes out second best on the figures although it is debatable as to whether the gelding is worthy of his official mark of 64. Even so if we forgive the horses flop on soft ground at Nottingham last time a relatively strong case can be made with Steve Drowne up for the first time. As with all runners from the Bailey yard the market may tell us more. In such a weak affair Amy Weaver's unexposed Indigo Ink must be respected, as should Mick Channon's Whipperway who looks to have work to do at the weights but should benefit for the step back up to a mile today. In an uninspiring opener Mind Of Her Own gets marginal preference.
