Verdict

A wide-open maiden race in which a purely speculative vote goes to FEARLESS LAD. He was only beaten a length by Jimmy The Snooze over 7f here last week and a literal reading of the form gives him the beating of both Excellent Puck and King Bertie, runner-up over track and trip on debut. Landau is not out of this either judged on his debut behind Al Enbess while Baytown Bertie makes most appeal of the newcomers as he's a half-brother to a couple of winners.
