Verdict

The progressive WISSAHICKON ended the Turf season with an impressive victory in the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket in September. Now rated 117, John Gosden’s colt will likely start the hot favourite for this with the Winter Derby here in February a possible long-term aim. Big Country is penalised for a Listed success at Pontefract during the summer but still finished in front of Scarlet Dragon when runner-up in last month’s Churchill Stakes over track and trip. The latter has since gone close in a conditions race here behind Mango Tango and that pair are closely matched having finished ahead of fourth-placed Goring on that occasion.
